Imagination

While picking Alison up from school today the teacher asked me if Alison had really broken her finger when she was younger. I said no and then asked Alison who just walked up if she had broken her finger before. She replied, "yes, when I was younger I got it jammed in John's back and had to go to the hospital and have x-rays!" I looked at the teacher with a smile and commented on the wonderful imagination she has. We laughed and the teacher told me that she had them all convinced!

Dreams

This morning I asked John if he had good dreams. He said, "Yes. I dreamed about WWI, WWII and the Cold War. They used carrier pigeons in WWII to send messages." I asked if they used the pigeons in the Cold War as well. His reply, "No, it was to cold! They would have needed a suit."

Funny Words

The local meat store has started to smoke meat in front of the store. I was explaining to Alison what the smoker was and what it did. She replied, "oh, I get it. Some people smoke cigarettes and some people smoke meat!"
While watching Saturday morning cartoons a commercial for a toy Alison wants came on. She said, "wow, that's off the chain, yo!"

Rockstar

Alison loves Hanna Montana! And she loves to sing. Unfortunately, she sings flat. John has an ear for music and can not stand it when she sings. So me being the great mom that I am, I encourage her to get the microphone and sing! She just loves to put on music and sing and dance. This was the best $30 I have ever spent for her!

Please explain

Mom on the phone while driving: "Okay, we will be knocking on your door shortly. Bye."
Alison: "Why do we have to knock shortly?"

John: "Mom, did you have tv when you were little?"
Me: "Yes."
John: "Cool!"

Back To School

Butterfly Class

1st Grade

It is finally here! School has started and all of us are so happy! John is loving 1st grade. His teacher, Mrs. Gorman says that he is doing so well. She wishes some of the other kids were as good as him! He is so excited to be reading and learning about compound words. One funny thing, there is another John Davis in his class! Both of the mom's are Jennifer as well! What are the odds of that?

Alison is in the Butterfly class at Marlyhurst. She goes Monday thru Thursday from 9am to 1pm. She is having a blast. She is meeting new friends, doing art and playing. She loves writing her name and picking out jobs to do at school. I am working every Wednesday in the office to help with the cost of tuition.

Both kids are having a great time and are so tired at the end of the day. They are in bed and asleep by 8pm!
